Welcome to "Life with the Maxies"! Kyle likes to think of it as "Maxie Madness". We live in Hattiesburg and are the proud parents of Kolt Allen who is 19 months and Kylee Jo who just recently turned one month old. Kyle is the head baseball coach at PCS and I am a first grade teacher at Earl Travillion Attendance Center. We attend Venture Church and are so happy that God chose to lead us there! We are so thankful for all of the many blessings God has bestowed upon us and pray that He can use us to be His light for others to see Him.

He is risen!

"As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'”  - Mark 16:5-7

The week leading up to Easter was Spring Break for my mom and Sarah. Since we were all off at the same time, we made plans to go and visit my grandparents in Albertville, Alabama. Mama and Sarah came up on Sunday and spent the night. We got up Monday morning, loaded the car and headed to Albertville. We could not have asked for Kolt to have been any better. He slept the whole way! Well, he did wake up once, in Tuscaloosa! :)

While we were there, Kolt got to meet and visit with family that he had not been able to meet just yet. We all had a great time being able to catch up with family that we do not get to see on a regular basis. Wednesday morning, we packed back up and headed to Monroeville. Once, again Kolt traveled like a champ and slept the whole time!

When we got back to Monroeville, we got ready and headed to church for the Children’s Easter egg hunt. Kolt got some eggs and even got to take his picture with the Easter bunny! He really didn’t care that he was being held by the Easter bunny, which was a relief for me. (Not so sure it will be that way next year!) Thursday while we were home, I must admit, we were lazy! Kolt is trying to cut teeth and wasn’t feeling too well during parts of our trip. So we used Thursday to relax a bit!

If there is one thing I learned this week, it’s that Kolt MISSED HIS DADDY! Kyle is the one who rocks Kolt to sleep every night and when his daddy wasn’t there to do so, he didn’t like it! Kyle came to Monroeville around lunchtime Friday since he was off for Good Friday. Kolt and I were SO happy and excited to see him! When it was time for Kolt to take a nap, he would only sleep if he was touching his “dada”.

Saturday, once again we were kind of lazy throughout the day..which was perfectly fine with us! We all got ready and headed to eat supper at David’s…YUMMY! After David’s, we got back home and Kyle and I began to bake cupcakes. We made Easter cupcakes while Kolt napped. Once Kolt man woke up, we began dying Easter Eggs. He enjoyed sitting there watching Daddy and Mommy compete to have the best egg! That night, Kolt knew he had to go to sleep so the Easter bunny could come, because he slept SO WELL! (However, I think a lot of that is because he was snuggled up with daddy)

Sunday morning, we woke up to see what the Easter bunny had brought before we started getting ready for church. Of course, he brought a lot of fun goodies! Especially, since Kolt had 3 Easter bunnies visit him! :) We got ready and headed to Eastwood for church. Kolt slept through the whole service. As always, Bro. Steve brought a wonderful message!

Despite our Easter activities, my daddy was really sick all weekend. Mama left church early Sunday to take him to the hospital. Once she took him to the ER they decided he needed to be admitted into ICU. So, after we left church, Sarah and I got things ready around the house and packed his bag for him to stay in the hospital. Kyle, Sarah and I worked great as a team, naturally rotating between cleaning up from lunch, doing a load of laundry, watching Kolt or packing. Kyle and I knew we still had to come back to Hattiesburg yesterday afternoon but we had to see my daddy before we left. Sarah was so sweet to keep Kolt while Kyle and I went and visited with daddy. After we left, we all went back to the hospital and Mama was able to come out and see Kolt on our way out of town. My daddy has been and is still very sick. However, his blood sugar is coming down and he is slowly beginning to feel better. Please keep him in your prayers for a total and speedy recovery!

We all traveled many miles this past week but we had a great time and made great memories for Kolt’s first Easter! I am so blessed and thankful that we were able to spend it with my family! :)
